How an affiliate partnership with Kurli works
Kurli joins your program, not the other way round. Your tracked links replace the generic retailer links in the product recommendations, and you pay only on sales.
Kurli is the publisher, not the merchant. Kurli joins your affiliate program and sends you traffic, rather than you joining one of ours. If you run a program on Impact, ShareASale, Awin, Rakuten, LTK, or in-house, Kurli can apply to it and use your tracked links in its AI product recommendations for the hair types your products suit. There is no fee up front and you pay only on tracked sales at the commission rate you set. Apply or enquire at hello@kurli.me.

What changes on the page when a deal is live
Today, when Kurli recommends a product category to a user, the buy link usually goes to a retailer search through a general affiliate program. It gets the person to something reasonable, and nothing about it is specific to any brand.
With a direct affiliate partnership, that link is replaced. When Kurli recommends a leave-in conditioner to a user it has read as type 3b, the link goes to your leave-in, through your tracking, with your cookie. The category is the same. The destination is yours.
The mapping is done per hair type and per product category, not sitewide. A brand with one hero product for coily hair gets that product in the coily routines. It does not get inserted into every routine on the site, because that is how a recommendation stops being a recommendation.
What we need from you
Four things, and none of them are unusual.
Program access. Approval as a publisher on whichever network you use, or an in-house link and tracking method. Some programs quietly reject tools, apps, and anything that is not a blog, so check that before approving, because it is the most common reason these deals stall.
A product list with texture mapping. Which product is for which hair type. If you send a catalogue with no texture information we have to guess, and guessing is how a product ends up recommended to the wrong hair.
Commission rate and cookie window. You set both. Tell us what they are so we can be honest with ourselves about whether the placement is worth the slot.
A working feed or a stable set of URLs. Broken product links are the fastest way to lose a reader's trust, and they are almost always caused by a discontinued line nobody told the publisher about.
What you get back
A monthly report of clicks by hair type. Not just a total, but which textures clicked, because that is the number that tells you whether your product is matched correctly or merely present.
If a product is underperforming in a category, we will say so and suggest moving it or dropping it. A dead link in a routine costs us reader trust, which is the only asset the site actually has, so we have a strong incentive to fix a bad match rather than let it sit there earning nothing.
What you do not get is a promise of volume. We do not forecast sales, because we would be making the number up, and an invented forecast is the thing that poisons these relationships in month three.
Disclosure, and why it is not negotiable
Every affiliate link on Kurli is disclosed. The affiliate disclosure states that some links earn commission at no extra cost to the reader, and it is linked from every page that carries a commercial link.
This follows the FTC's endorsement guides, which require that a connection between an advertiser and an endorser that could affect how much weight a reader gives to the endorsement, and that the reader would not already expect, is disclosed clearly and conspicuously. An affiliate commission is a textbook example of that kind of connection.
The practical version: we will not run an undisclosed link, and we will not describe a commercial arrangement as an independent recommendation. If a deal only works when the reader cannot tell, we cannot do the deal.
How it compares to the paid options
Affiliate is the low-risk starting point. You pay nothing until something sells, which means the risk of the placement not working sits with us, not you.
The trade is that affiliate does not buy you position. Your product is used where it genuinely fits the recommendation, and it is not promoted above a better match. If you want the first slot in a category regardless, that is paid placement, which is a different product with a fee and a label.
Most brands that end up doing both start with affiliate, see the click data by hair type, and then buy placement in the one category where the data says it is worth it. That order works better than the reverse.
Reasons we would say no
We will decline if the product has no clear texture fit, because there is no honest place to put it.
We will decline if the program's terms forbid the way the site actually works, for example a rule against tools or against any link that is not a direct product page.
And we will decline if the claims on the product are ones we would have to repeat and cannot check. A shampoo that claims to regrow hair is not a placement problem, it is a liability problem, and it is not one we are taking on for a commission.

Questions
Questions brands ask
Does Kurli have an affiliate program brands can join?
No, and the direction confuses people. Kurli is the publisher, not the merchant. Kurli joins your affiliate program and sends you traffic. If you run a program on Impact, ShareASale, Awin, Rakuten, LTK, or in-house, Kurli can apply to it.
What does the affiliate option cost?
Nothing up front. You pay only on tracked sales at the commission rate and cookie window you set. That makes it the usual starting point for a brand that has not worked with Kurli before.
Which affiliate networks does Kurli work with?
Impact, ShareASale, Awin, Rakuten, LTK, and in-house programs. Name yours in the enquiry. Check first whether your program approves tools and apps as publishers, because some do not and that is the most common reason these deals stall.
Will my product be shown to everyone on the site?
No. Products are mapped to the hair types and product categories they actually suit. A coily hair product appears in coily routines. Inserting one brand into every routine is how a recommendation stops meaning anything, so it is not something we do.
What reporting do I get?
A monthly report of clicks broken down by hair type, not just a single total. The breakdown is what tells you whether the product is matched correctly rather than merely present. Sales data stays in your own network dashboard.
Will Kurli forecast how many sales I will get?
No. We do not forecast volume, because any number we gave you would be invented. An invented forecast is the thing that ruins these relationships once real data arrives.
Are the affiliate links disclosed to users?
Yes, on every page that carries one, through the affiliate disclosure page. This follows the FTC endorsement guides, which require a material connection between advertiser and endorser to be disclosed clearly and conspicuously when a reader would not already expect it.
Can affiliate commission buy my product a better position?
No. Affiliate links are used where the product genuinely fits the recommendation. Buying position is a separate product called paid placement, which carries a fee and a visible label.
What happens if my product line is discontinued?
Tell us and we will remove or replace the link. Broken product links are the fastest way to lose a reader's trust, and a discontinued line that nobody flagged is the usual cause.
Why would Kurli turn down an affiliate partnership?
Three main reasons: the product has no clear texture fit so there is no honest place to put it, the program's terms forbid how the site works, or the product carries claims we would have to repeat and cannot verify.
